About Carlos Falchi:

Known as the "rock star of the fashion accessory industry," Carlos Falchi's designs in exotic leathers are found in the world's top boutiques and department stores. His fashion icon followers have included everyone from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to Mary J. Blige.

While working as Maitre d' at New York's legendary Max's Kansas City in the 1960s, Falchi's self-designed and hand-created patchwork snakeskin ensembles caught the eye of the musicians that came through the door, and soon he was designing custom pieces for the likes of Miles Davis, Steve Winwood, Mick Jagger, Herbie Hancock, and Elvis. Remember Tina Turner's cavewoman dresses? Falchi created those, too.

Falchi turned his attention to designing handbags in the 1970s and over the past four decades he has created some of the most distinctive and desirable handbags on the market, always instantly recognizable and often featuring his trademark patchwork of color and texture. Each piece is hand made in his New York City workshop.

Falchi and AG&B:

"When my husband, Cory, and I met Carlos in 2007," says AG&B co-owner Stephanie Lake, "we told him we wanted to create a line of guitar straps to match the quality of the boutique guitars that we sell. As huge fans of Carlos' work, and knowing his background designing for musicians, we felt there was no one better suited to the project. We whisked him off to a late night tour of our store, and we shook hands on the deal that night." According to Falchi, "it was a chance to return to my roots."
